Church, Stairs, and Hammers

Well, it's Sunday, and we enjoyed our third church service in Dutch. It was a great message that reminded me of our Tuesday night Bible study as we learned about the "total,complete and absolute superiority supremacy of Jesus Christ and the finality of His sacrifice"in Hebrews. My headphones worked this week, so I got to hear the English version and understood it, rather than just picking up a couple of words here and there like last week. I love the opportunity to sit with other believers and even though we do not understand all the words said and sung, we know that we are all praising the same God! We serve a BIG God!

We had a scary moment yesterday morning when Keiric tumbled down our stairs. He's okay - just bumped and bruised - but it was a very scary moment for all of us. In case you don't know, the Dutch don't tend to waste much square footage on their stairs, so they go at a very steep angle, and we knew it was only a matter of time before one of us fell. It's probably a good thing that it was Keiric because he kind of bounced, where most of us would probably have broken a bone or four. We are very grateful that God protected him and that we don't yet have to try out the Dutch health care system! Please pray for God's continued protection and that Keiric gets over his newly-developed fear of stairs.

Kaylie spent the mornings of the past week at a Kid's Camp type program where the first day the kids were given hammers, nails, saws, and planks of wood and asked to work in groups to build a small house. It's something that nobody would ever have enough insurance to do in the States, but Kaylie had a great time. It was great opportunity for her to interact with kids who didn't speak her language. Wea re very proud of how brave she is becoming.

We still don't have much internet access or a phone - (Please pray for our paperwork issues to get resolved and worked out) Also we are leaving for GEMs annual conference where all of the missionaries across Europe come together to study and encourage one another. We are excited about the chance to meet and learn from other missionaries on the field.

We have also loved getting the comments and emails from back home. Thank you for keeping us in your prayers and thoughts.
