Tyndale Theological Seminary in Amsterdam
We had special train tickets that needed to be used, so we took Joy and Samara (one of our youth leaders) on a mini tour of Holland. After a quick stop-over in Haarlem looking for the elusive poffertjes stand (which we did not find), we went down to Delft. This is the town where I assume Delft painting began (the traditional blue and white hand-painted items). We had never been there, so we thought it would be interesting - and we were right: it was a beautiful little town.Samara and the kids on the train.

From there we headed to Den Haag which is the political capitol of the Netherlands. We went on a walking tour and saw a lot - we were also very impressed with how well the kids did as we walked A LOT that day! Den Haag was also very beautiful.
This man was painting a picture of the street; it was quite good and fun to watch.

This was an old church built in town - the sign in front of it says that they are now in the process of turning it into an apartment building. We have been told that they close 1 church per week here in Holland.
For Mother's Day we packed a picnic lunch and went to the lake nearby, Geestmerambacht. We had a great time, though, contrary to the look of the pictures, it was very cold. The kids only lasted a few minutes in the water since every time the sun went behind the clouds it dropped 20 degrees!
