Still catching up on our trip to England

In all the craziness that came after Christmas, we totally forgot to finish blogging our trip to England. So here is a little more.

Tuesday, we slept in a bit and then headed out to see one of the sites our absentee hosts had suggested. Well, we ended up parking in the wrong spot and having to walk all over the grounds in an effort to see Burley House. I'm not sure how we missed it, (you'll wonder too when you see the pics), but the grounds are extensive, and by the time we got there Keiric and even Kaylie were tired of walking and wanted to be carried. Unfortunately, the house tours do not run during the winter months, so we weren't able to go inside, but luckily I found a very nice older gentleman on staff to let us into the staff area when both of the kids decided they needed the "potty." The grounds around it were beautiful, though, and had deer (not the petting zoo variety) and sheep that seemed to live in the fields and trees surrounding the property. Here are some pictures:
This is the front gate, which we found by accident while looking for the house.
Here's the "house":
Not Burley "Palace", not Burley "Castle", not Burley "Estate", not even Burley "Manor" -

The deer around the grounds were pretty cool to watch, not really friendly but definitely used to people.
When the sun went down, we decided to trek back to the car; it was truly beautiful.
We headed back to hang out, watch a movie, and rest up a bit for London the next morning! Of course, there is always time to dress up like a super-hero, and the kids thought they looked pretty cool trying on these masks!

Those pics are so beautiful! I agree though, "house" just doesn't do it justice.

What exactly is Kaylie's superhero pose though?
